Hervé Pennec obtained a PhD

  in history at the University Paris-I

  (Panthéon-Sorbonne) in 2000.

  He is carrying out research

  on the relations between

  Southern Europe and Ethiopia

  and on missionary writings

  in the XVIth - XVIIth century.

  He is currently assistant review editor

  for the Annales

  Histoire et sciences sociales (HSS)

  published by the École des Hautes Études

  en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris).
